Former state legislator Coy C. Privette, a Cabarrus County commissioner, prominent local republican and "Christian activist", faces charges of soliciting prostitution. The allegations involve alleged meetings at Rowan County hotel rooms with the same prostitute, dating back several months. Privette also serves as the president of the Christian Action League of North Carolina, which advocates in the General Assembly for Christian groups.
A nice story on this on the
Charlotte Observer website, including a picture of the African-American prostitute Mr. Privette allegedly frequented. She was also charged with drug possession. I wonder if Coy did any of that as well?
Privette, a Republican, is president of the Christian Action League, a statewide organization that aims to promote “legislation that is consistent with a Christian worldview,” according to its Web site. He’s been a member of the board of directors and executive committee of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina.
Another victory for the party of "family values".}(
