Or one of your elected officials. If there are empty seats at district convention, I was always under the impression (with a vote of the body of the convention) that those seats could be filled. All it takes is a motion to nominate, a second and a positive vote. Again, check with a rules-smith but I still believe you can go.

Also, if you know a delegate/alternate who cannot attend, have them fill out the nomination sheet in their convention booklet (basically, their substituting you for them at the convention - that being their wishes) I beleive the body votes to allow it at the beginning as delegates are seated and a challenge can be submitted - Im betting a challenge has never occured.

Check around, this is just what I'm remembering from past conventions, but usually as we head to District and on to State the slates are never 100% full and the rules will be bent/suspended to get those chairs filled.
