Kash 'n Karry will change their name to Sweetbay and will try to compete with Whole Foods and Fresh Market for the upper income demographic.http://www.sweetbaysupermarket.com/home.shtml
Sweetbay will not have discount cards like KnK because it attracts bargain hunters not lifestyle shoppers.Seems like grocery shopping is moving toward upper-class boutique vs lower-class feedlot and middle market is feeling the squeeze.I prefer Costco because Sam's is like a scene from Soylent Green,Costco does not play FOX news on 25 plasma televisions but has a demonstration channel so I do not loose my appetite as soon as I walk in the door.I heard a stockbroker say companies like Coach and Whole Foods which profit from the upper class tax cut will grow as well as giant mass market companies one of which the broker called Procter&Ghetto.
