8. I love the land of the United States and our Constitution, but there's always been...
...a lot of smoke and mirrors about how "great" America is ~ a lot of blowhard arrogance that is based on lies meant to cover up what's really going on. (Thiefs of Wall Street, Military Industrial Complex, etc.) I told my kids to take their American History classes with a giant grain of salt because of all the propaganda taught here.

We talk a good game about freedom, blah, blah, blah ~ but what this really means is anyone can make a buck here because everything is for sale. Nothing is sacred.

All that said, it is still possible to live here outside the general corrupted culture, to create a pleasant counter-culture way of life in the midst of everything else. But I'm not sure we'll see a strong national healthcare program anytime soon.
