Looks like right-wingers around here are REALLY freaking out. Some choice bits:

“This plumber is no ordinary Joe. Joe Wurzelbacher, aka Joe the Plumber, has been extraordinarily successful in the plumbing business. He soon plans to earn a net profit (after subtracting all of his business expenses) in excess of $250,000 per year. Like that other guy, Joe the CEO, Joe the Plumber would prefer to pay no taxes at all. But Barack Obama has proposed that persons earning a net income of more than $250,000 per year should pay a higher rate of taxes on income they receive in excess of $250,000. John McCain asks: why would Obama raise taxes on successful people like Joe the Plumber? No one should have to pay taxes at all. If we agree to fund federal programs (a post office and an army, for example) shouldn’t the funding come from people who can afford it? Barack Obama would raise taxes on successful people in order to reduce the tax burden on ordinary Joes.”

-- Jeff of Parkesburg

“Barack Obama wants to spread the wealth around. From each according to his ability and to each according to his needs is the basis of socialism. The dictator for the proletariat was Karl Marx. Communism eventually failed in the Soviet Union. Does Obama want to repeat history and make us all suffer? Those were his words, ‘If you pay no taxes you have nothing to lose except your future.’ If you are a current taxpayer you would lose immediately from Obama’s transfer of wealth.”

-- Bob of Thorndale

“There would be no greater gift than to not have Barack Obama elected president of the United States. Look at who he aligned himself with for many years -- a hateful minister and a self-proclaimed hater of America. If you plan to vote for Obama, then prepare yourself for the consequences. He is not the man that he would like you to believe he is.”

-- Original Nick of Coatesville

“I have noticed something quite odd. When Barack Obama’s numbers are up, the value of my nest egg goes down, and vice versa.”

-- Lou of Coatesville

“I fear that if Obama is elected president, this great country of ours will not outlast his presidency.”

-- Leonard of Yeadon
