195. I'm all for playing dirty . . .
but smart dirty. You have to remember, mr & mrs middle America have looked down on the Democratic Party since the Vietnam, a repetitive and incessant demonization. By smart-dirty, I mean we can play dirty as long as we don't play into the stereotype, or at least not this idea. There's so many other ways to attack McCain that aren't so risky.

For those who think it'll be a two day story, it won't because of the way the right wing noise/smear machine works. The worker bees will dutifully go on every show they can and repeat, repeat, repeat. We couldn't get any traction on the purple band-aid because our surrogates aren't nasty wind-up ideological robots. If there was no PTSD then the key ring idea would be great, but the right will play this skillfully, it's their forte, and it's how they win because they can't win on the issues so they have it perfected. People who stay up nights dreaming of ways to be evil will always have a head start over Democrats, who, IMO are kinder and fairer by nature. To them the end justifies the means, and it doesn't for Democrats. Democrats are tough, but they don't stay up nights dreaming of ways to be underhanded and mean. We can go toe to toe, but we have to be smart about it.
