171. It ain't about me.
And I swear to you it wasn't my intent to make it about you personally as far as anything outside the content/context of this thread and what you've posted here. The problem is that the content/context is itself deeply personal and requires better than normal caution which was basically the point of the OP.

Let me try again, with a little more caution. First of all, if you're up for continuing this, it would really help me if you link to the specific comments in question. That was the first assumption I had to make in the absence of explicit descriptions or a provided example. It's quite possible we see eye to eye but are on different pages. I doubt it's that simple, but best to make sure and eliminate the need for people to assume details that make a difference.

That leads me to the point I was getting to in my response to you. I say that a person's sexuality is a detail that matters when evaluating his or her comments for hostile impact they may have to gay people in general. You seem to be saying that it's a detail that doesn't matter. You didn't say so explicitly, but it seems clear. Once again, I ask you to correct me if I'm wrong in that deduction. That's the point I was hoping to explore and I apologize for adding onto my reply any assumptions about you that were personal and unnecessary to furthering that discussion.

I'm still interested in your perspective if you're up for discussing the topic. I don't want to make it about you or me personally and I hope that feeling is mutual, but I'll give you the last word if that's not the case.

Cheers,
Karl
