12. That Is Not, Mr. Map, A Very Wise Idea
Edited on Mon Aug-23-04 01:52 PM by The Magistrate
Money is to politics what munitions are to war; the first essentials of operation, and the first factor to assess comparatively in predicting which side will win.

Party contributions to the Republicans typically outweigh party contributions to the Democrats by a considerable factor. However, this year, when the donations to these independent committees are added into the figures, our side has more money available than the enemy. This a happy state indeed, and almost unheard of when running against an incumbent in the Oval Office. It would be a very foolish move to do anything to upset it.

The right line of attack is that which is being pursued: Bush supporters are engaging in smears against Sen. Kerry, and are co-ordinating illegally with the Republican Party, and with leading Bush donors and Carl Rove himself, as they do so. These hired character assassins must be denounced by the White House in no uncertain terms, and an open confession of the illegal co-ordination must be made, or the matter cannot possibly be put to rest with the public. The White House ought to be eager to do this, because continuing this controversy will only focus people's minds on the contrast between Sen. Kerry's heroic record of service, and the shabby cowardice displayed by a draft dodger who now tries to posture as a man o' war....

"Can't nobody here play this game?"

"LET'S GO GET THOSE BUSH BASTARDS!"
