31. It's a patriotism game
one the repukes use against us routinely.

See, McCain is being "straight" with the American people when he says that those jobs aren't coming back or we might be in Iraq for a long time. Michelle was being unpatriotic because (by implication) she hasn't ALWAYS been proud to be an American.

McCain is a war hero. His generation (and mine) remembers the spitting on the flag and the flag burning and violent protests, not just against the war, but against America.

That was never a way to win friends and influence people.

This war, we don't spit on the troops (we look at them as victims too, not perpetrators, though some are), and, for the most part, we've avoided the flag burning. Anti Bush, Anti Cheney, anti Rumsfeld and Condi and the corporations behind them ... those are "fair" targets. But not America.
