Honestly, I do. No one should have to go through that--as someone who's lived through a dyke bashing, was the victim of a racial incident at school that nearly got me expelled, and nearly got kicked out of the house over religion, I understand the pain of being different. It's terrible.

But I think you need to understand that I, and many racial and sexual minorities find it patently offensive when hetero white folks break out their "black friends" etc in an attempt to silence us. That is straight out of Black People Love Us and it's not cool. Minorities don't all think, act or feel the same way about things. If that were the case, there wouldn't be Log Cabin Republicans or Jack and Jill.

I think you're trying to pick a fight where one doesn't exist, as BB said upthread. This was intended to be a positive thread and I don't have any animosity toward you. If you can't see the point I was trying to make in my OP, that's fine. :shrug:
