28. The Harold Ford effect.
The GOP want him to get the nomination, because they think the Harold Ford effect (you need to poll five to fifteen percent ahead of what you THINK is a safe margin of victory in order to win) will doom Obama.

Of course, there's the Woman Hater's Club to worry about if Clinton gets it, too.

I was sitting near an AARP-vintage woman at a restaurant--a WOMAN, mind you--who rather loudly (think she was enjoying the wine or something), assertively and ignorantly told her dining companions the following:

--She could NEVAH vote for a woman, because women just aren't equipped to "handle somethin' like bein' da prezzidint"--by the way, did I mention there was no chance of confusing her with an Oxford graduate?

--She could NEVAH vote for a bleeeee-ACK, because "bleeee-ACKS ahhhn't good LEEE-DIZ!"

--She liked 'dat Romney, only she doesn't like da Mor-minz' so at the end of the day she thought she'd vote either Rudy "Googly-Annie" or "dat Law and Order Guy."

I couldn't believe my ears. There are, even in blue states, fucking idiots.
