25. Other-- John Kerry
Nevermind the loonies. John Kerry's a better choice than anything the Republicans have to offer. Even the sane ones pale in comparison.

Here's one particular. Progress in science and technology. John Kerry has been leading the fight for stem-cell research, and going against Bush's anti-science agenda. Kerry will be able to muster bipartisan support for pro-science policies. Even though many Republicans disagree with the current administration's policies, the Republican Party is too beholden to their fundie base to be able to govern that way. Kerry can and will promote progress in science and medicine.

Check out Kerry's speech at Stanford. This is a guy who understands our national interest in science and technology, and what we need to do to promote further growth. Targetted tax cuts, combined with provisions for favoring long-term investors over professional traders, will encourage investments in new technologies and make the best use of the talents of our egineers and scientists. And investment in our education system will ensure that we will have a pool of talented scientists and engineers to draw from.

A lot of us have the dream of energy independence. It's within the realm of the possible, but it's not going to happen by accident or force of circumstances, or by voting for Republicans. Sooner or later we're going to have to take the bull by the horns and do things to make it happen. Come November, we're going to have the opportunity to do just that.
