George R. Nethercutt, Jr, a Republican whose daughter has type-1 and is an outspoken advocate for people with Diabetes who left Congress last year

Former Senator Strom Thurmond has a daughter with type-1

Representative Curt Weldon was just diagnosed with diabetes.

That's all that is on that site... I'll do some more digging.
