Can you imagine they will throw them away once they have them? I can't. I think if they have the crosses, they will think about 'what noble cause' every time they see the cross in their house.
Perhaps Camp Casey should turn it around--offer the crosses with love and hugs to those who want to take their crosses home.
Replace the missing ones with plain white, that doesn't offend the family yet still counts and reveres the life lost.
