That has to become an issue we play on. Republicans perfected that one years ago. "Oh we admire Truman and Kennedy, that's when Democrats were still Democrats, not radical Liberals. The Democratic Party abandoned its members, that's why Democrats are abandoning the Democratic Party."

Today's Republican Party is ripe for that type of attack. but most Democratic leaders are afraid to go anywhere near it. Dean won't be.
