"The White House told us they wanted to do something special for Eid, and we thought the perfect message would come through the children."
Alrayyes said the White House has actively wanted to show Muslims that the president recognizes and respects their faith.

Muslims Pray with Mourners at the National Cathedral(Washington, DC) - In a somber, yet uplifting ceremony, the nation united together at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC in a day of remembrance and mourning for the victims and the survivors of the national tragedy. Prayers of Muslims, Christians and Jews filled the Cathedral along with the tears of many Americans during the special prayer service.
Dr. Muzammil Siddiqui of the Islamic Society of North America delivered the Muslim prayer during the congregation. He lead the prayers by reading verses from the Holy Qu'ran and he added:
We turn to You, our Lord, at this time of pain and grief in our nation. We see the evil of destruction and the suffering of the many of our people before our eyes. With broken and humble hearts and with tears in our eyes, we turn to You, our Lord, to give us comfort. Help us in our distress, keep us together as people of diverse faiths, colors and races, keep our country strong for the sake of good and righteousness, and protect us from all evil.
The Islamic Institute's President, Mr. Khaled Saffuri and Executive Director, Mr. Abdulwahab Alkebsi attended the special prayer service with other leaders from the Muslim American community where they all joined other fellow Americans in our national grief during one of the most horrific times of our country's history. The Muslim American Community has declared today, Friday, September 14, a day of mourning where many mosques, nation wide, observed a day of morning and, in an act of solidarity, non-Muslims joined the Muslims in their prayers.
