The news the past month or so just makes my head hurt. So many of us came out of the November election with elation....we anticipated the departure of BushCheney in January....but we know what the vast majority of politicians are like (many Dem as well as most repub), we sensed the impact of greed in our society, we know how the vast majority of humans resist change, we know that the media is lashed to big business and in the business primarily of entertainment - and we also suspected the overt (and mostly covert) chafing at the election of a black president.

I know all of this - we know all of this - yet each day brings more and more disappointment at the faults of the system laid bare, at the magnitude of President Obama's battle, and of realizing how few true allies (not counting the public, of course - I am referring to the people who can aid or block him) he has.

Maybe it is a good thing - maybe his election is flushing out the true rot in our society, in our government and in our businesses. But it sure isn't a pretty sight.
