Liddy is a filthy felon who spent four years in prison for the Watergate Break in and his involvment in the Iran Contra illegal operations was indicative of his fascist leanings. He is the man who says he would kill his own mother if need be for the furthering of his agenda. McCain 'palling' around and praising Liddy is proof enough that McCain has no problem accepting an American traitor as a close friend.
