Granted, that surrogate would have to get the ritual throwing-under-the-bus, but that's what surrogates are for - saying things that the candidate himself can't get away with saying.

Bring up McCain's PTSD, ask innocently if McCain is mentally fit to have his finger on the button, suggest helpfully that he spend some time in counseling for his anger issues.

Of course, the Rethugs and their MSM puppets are going to have a fit of faux outrage, though they can't have too much outrage - after all, they don't want the PTSD issue to enter the public's consciousness. Keep provoking them until McCain's PTSD hits the headlines.

By all means, the Obama campaign should officially disavow this surrogate and send him packing, but hey, once he has to do this, the message is out there.
