30. "Perceived" to have blown it--in other words, the media has now
allowed the narrative to become "Clark trashed McCain's record", even though you know and I know it isn't true. Obama distanced himself from the remarks, which he did appropriately and mildly, but you can't have "distance" between Prez and VP right from the start. Wes made some disparaging "commander in chief" remarks about Obama in the primaries. Plus, the VP slot should probably be filled by a more careful and polished politician--that's just my take. I also think people in the lefty blogosphere overrate how much Wes is loved or respected by the predominantly-GOP military community--speaking as a military wife.
