I thought this would be a good survey type thread for all of us to get together and weigh in who and what kinds of Republicans have told us they will be voting for Obama. I have a feeling that enough of these voters could be key especially in helping Barack win the swing states.

Be straightforward, and as a parameter let's go with friends, family, and acquaintances who have definitively said they will vote for Obama

Include what state they live in, and a little background on them, and why they've said they're voting for Obama

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I'll start:

My cousin, a mid 40s male who lives in Boca Raton, Florida is a lifelong Republican who follows politics casually. He's originally from Fort Wayne Indiana, from an old old Republican line (almost that entire side of my family including my grandparents are conservative from generations back). He's never voted a Dem for President, but told me he likes Obama because he thinks Barack is honest and a very good guy. He also doesn't like the war and is worried about the economy (he works as a charter pilot).

My girlfriend's mom, a late 50s female who lives in Long Beach, California is also a lifelong Republican. She and her husband (a retired Pastor who is voting for McCain), are immigrants from Southeast Asia, and have always been very conservative not only because Reagan helped them come to America but also because of religion etc. She's voting for Obama because on the one hand she doesn't like the direction the country's been going in and on the other because she does not think McCain is a trustworthy character.
