is an absurdist joke. Both are centre-right, like the majority of the American political mainstream; Obama is to all appearances marginally further to the political left than Clinton, but not so much as John Edwards (who isn't a leftist either).

And in case you haven't noticed, we aren't in Peru, or Bolivia, or Spain under Franco (and if the American political situation were in any way comparable, Hillary Clinton is one of the last people I would trust to lead things in a new direction).Politics is situational and local. We are in the United States, and the fact remains that Senator Clinton has a host of unsavoury personal connections that can and will be exploited against her, and which make her a likely far weaker general election candidate than she already appears to be.
