148. Mainstream America is a little less forgiving?
The logical consequence of that would be, should Clinton be the nominee, that the M$M would feature reruns of the '90s classic "MonicaMonicaMonicaMonicaMonica!!!" 24/7, with an occasional break for "Hillary is a lesbian who was having a torrid affair with Vince Foster before she had him killed". :eyes: By now it should be clear that any Dem candidate is going to be swiftboated. Look at the abuse presently being heaped upon Jimmy Carter!

Obama may not even have known of Ayers' Weatherman past. It's not like there's a historical plaque on the house that reads "Former member of the Weather Underground lives here". As for GDA, the full quote is considerably less scary: "God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human...."

In both instances, a then-obscure candidate for the Illinois state senate and a preacher are being retroactively placed under the microscope of a national political campaign. Who among us lives our lives thinking, "If I do this, it'll come back to haunt me when I run for President"?

It is increasingly clear that there is only one way to resolve this dispute: the consumption of a case of Corona on Opihi's lanai. :-) And I can guarantee all of you the ensuing debate (with Opihi in the Gibson/Snuffleupagus role) would be far more entertaining that anything you'd ever see on Faux or BSNBC!

And lest we lose sight of the real enemy here, McClown had the chutzpah to go to New Orleans today and say, if he were President, he would have gone there after the Federal Flood! Remember, he was eating cake with Bush while it happened. Did he urge Bush to go? Well? That's what I thought.
