Yes, blonds are proverbally considered "dumb"--but I recall from the 50s on that they were also considered very sexy and very desirable. In fact, that was the "perfect package" brought forth for women to emulate-the only desirable woman was a dumb one, because women of intelligence are a threat to male egos.

As for blindness-I've been around it all my life, from childhood friends who were blind to relatives who were blind. Interestingly enough, I've found that some of these people have more insight than sighted folks.
