58. I think your final paragraph speaks volumes as to how many
people view a lot of things in life. We see it with some supporters of both sides of the current morass, but it is far more obvious in the GOP, and in many other aspects of society as well.

"It is said that there are none so blind as those who will not see. In the present circumstances, I would go a step further to say that there are none so sightless as those obstinate enough to pluck their own eyes out, in a vain attempt to prove that their ignorant vision should be blindly accepted by those who see the more-than-obvious truth in all of its undeniable clarity."

Many years ago I realized that compromise is a good thing. I surely do not have all of the answers, and I've never met anyone who did. When people mistake obstinacy for passion, they cheat themselves of many of the good things in life. I think passion is a good thing as well...however, I for one, refuse to gouge out my eyes, shoot myself in the foot, or fall off the edge of a flat earth.

Here's what I want...a unified and dedicated Democratic party taking on the GOP and the neo-cons and beating them not only w/that castoff McCain, but in both Houses of Congress as well. Without control, we will accomplish nothing as a nation. I want to see bush's "mandates" removed from the books, I want the war to end, I want to see this nation taking care of it's own citizens and helping the world to get along through peaceful means. I want to see us return to a nation of Freedom and Dignity...if we do not come together and tackle the horror that has been bestowed upon us, the ramifications are to great to contemplate.

Sunshine Patriots need not apply, we're in this to win; it could be considered our Second Revolution, for if we lose this election, I believe we will be heading back to a form of "Royalty" and the wealthy landowners, the "Gentry", will gain control of this great nation of fantastic people and turn us into little more than a nation of "loyal minions" working for the elite.
