115. Doma was exactly as the other poster says
I was there buddy. It was an endrun against altering the Constitution against gay people. No one has ever said it was an advancment of rights. Your false characterizations make your arguments seem desperate. The other poster did not say what you claim he did, and that is not fair play.
What you say is false, what the other poster says is dead on accurate. I'm gay and undecided, and old and accomplished enought to have spoken directly with the Clinton administration about the issue as it progressed. The other poster was not defening DOMA. They were stating historically accurate context.
Without that McClurkin/Cladwell/Evangelical crap I'd say the two are about equal on GLBT issues, but that crap happened and it spoke volumes.
I have no candidate I really am excited about. This weekend I will hear speeches from both campaigns live and ask some questions if I can. I have a coin to flip if I have to. But spinning history I lived through just will not do the trick.
