I have very recently been swayed to the Obama side of the fence, since my favorite candidates are long gone. His speech was very moving, and re-awakened within me the hope for a better America. It has been a long time since a politician has done this.
Nevertheless, we mustn't lose sight of the main goal: a Democrat back in the White House. Aside from wanting justice and additional help for New Orleans and the Gulf region impacted by hurricane Katrina, I have SCOTUS on my mind.... constantly. A McCain administration and the ensuing SCOTUS nominations would likely put the last nail in the coffin of our democratic republic.  |
