229. I think Obama is where he is right now because he has a megawatt smile
and amazing speaking voice and he's intelligent. Yeah, I think his looks have helped him a lot. heh

What was the OP? Oh, and yes, it will be very upsetting, to say the least, when they show clips of Obama saying he was never in the pew when any of these types of sermons were given. His wife is a devoted follower and church goer and so is Barack. You know someone is at this very moment looking for proof that Obama was not quite truthful. It's always the lie that gets you. I happen to like what I've seen of Reverend Wright's speeches. In college I had many a history class on what not so great things this country did and you can still see them going on to this day. I also lived a little bit of it.

The problem for me and Obama in this case isn't a misunderstanding of the African American experience. Most people I know that have called themselves Democrats for the over 50 years I've been on this planet know very well about the cancer this country has always had when it comes to race. I can't speak for a Black person, because I'm an old white woman. I can say growing up poor and watching my mother stay with a man who was useless and dangerous - that she was told by a lawyer that she couldn't get a divorce because he would get custody isn't a pleasant experience. She was an uneducated woman who couldn't afford to raise children. She divorced him anyway and then things got real hard. She was called names. You know the ones. She worked seven days a week and she did it all in high heels dancing backwards.

I was left to run the streets at age 8 and my first friends were Black and Puerto Rican. I thought I had it bad. After seeing what they went through, segregated class rooms, not being allowed past "this" street, I felt that I never, ever had a right to complain. And I didn't. For years I never realized we were poor. Had to live in a Greek family's basement apartment. They didn't speak English and thought my Mom was a "dirty woman."

Sorry, all this talk about if you happen to be for Hillary or if you saw that Obama lied and that it might come back at him in the general and you really, really don't want McCain to be President,... you're head is constantly spinning because you can't believe that Democrats are turning on Democrats like this. None of it makes any sense. I'm voting for the Democratic candidate in November. It's a no brainer.

Haven't any of you watched an election season before? Don't you recall anyone getting a little carried away at times and then when it's all over, ya just gotta kiss and make up. Or at least look like you have.

At the rate we are going now, given 5 weeks or so before people can watch the big PA election night, which I agree that Obama doesn't need to win..to win it all..my god..we'll all be a bloody oozing mess.
