that HRC planned it. However, the NYT endorses HRC (they would, she is from NY). You should watch that paper carefully.

A word of advice. If a corporate media newspaper did start this deliberately, one thing they were probably hoping for was a lot of people claiming to be Obama posters angrily denying that they are members of a cult. Unfortunately, like denials of alcoholism, drug addiction and "when did you stop beating your wife?" when you start talking about things like this, it only makes them think about it more.

One thread in which people make jokes about the issue would probably be helpful for everyone nerves. And then I strongly suggest that people read up on the Jimmy Carter 1976 campaign. He was accused of running for office as "Jesus Christ". But he won. Do not read the smears that are written about his presidency. Read about how he won against the Democratic establishment that thought it was "their turn" that year. He ran a very skillful grassroots campaign and shut out all the Democratic regulars.
