Will there be serious consideration given to postponing elections? Will this idea take hold in the public mind?

My answer: I sure as hell hope not. I remember NYC, traumatized as it was by the 9/11 attacks, bade farewell to Mr. Giuliani right on schedule. Despite Rudy's stated desire to oversee a "short" period of an extension of his mayoralty, somehow a big enough majority of New Yorkers said that Rudy had done enough to--I mean, for the City, and had more than earned release from his duties.

Bush will likewise be asked to make sure that the Oval Office is prepared for a new occupant on January 20, 2009, if not sooner. I think it would also be appropriate to surround the vice president's hideout and chant "Get out of (insert name of vice president here)'s house!" over and over again.
