37. I was attending a district central committee where I had presented a resolution
(that passed unanimously) denouncing the call to war with Iraq. We all know what happened there. I didn't even know the Governor was going to be at the meeting and after the resolution passed he got up and spoke. His words were echoes of what my husband had been saying about our party for years and the two went off to sit and have some coffee during the rest of the meeting.

Crazy to remember that now. Seems like a dream. Two months later the first staffer ended up in our office to use the space for a while (we let all the campaigns that asked use our phones/fax/copier as needed). The Dean staffer didn't leave until after the caucuses (in fact they opened their campaign office four our county one floor below us). Who'd of thought that day would shape the next 10 months?
