... but also sending a stern message to others in the state looking to run for public office as a member of the Democratic Party that there are principles to uphold that the party expects its members to adhere to, and that the party expects its elected politicians to serve the people where they serve, not the corporate or other special interests that seek to buy them out through weak campaign finance laws, etc.

Though perhaps we can't get rid of Feinstein, we might be able to at least get more progressive candidates running in 2008, or at least bend the existing candidates to be more progressive in their policies/votes, etc.
