4. Just take a look at the Cleveland Blame Dealer!!
Edited on Mon Sep-24-07 12:12 PM by HughBeaumont
Former publisher - Arch-Conservative.

Current publisher - Conservative.

Reader Representative - Conservative.

Deputy Editor - Ultra-right-wing, off-the-damned-charts whackadoo.

They also have at least two to three reporters of a conservative bent (Sabrina Eaton and Stephen Koff, I'm looking at YOU TWO!).

Every story of protest against the government either doesn't get mentioned or it's on page 8.

Any story disparaging the Fuhrer - same thing.

Oh, but God FORBID a Democrat does one thing wrong in their eyes (and really, the "something wrong" is a parking ticket compared to . . . I don't know . . . killing our soldiers in a useless oil grab???) . . . front page news!

If you recall, the Blame Dealer endorsed NO one for the 2004 election. Why? The editorial board voted to endorse Kerry. Alex Machaskee, corrupt enabler to Big Business interests and friend to crooked Cleveland pols, laid down the gauntlet - "You endorse George W Bush or you endorse NO ONE!" The PD was the only major paper in the US that made the absolute gutless decision to not have a presidential endorsement. We were a laughingstock.

The PD endorsed Mike DeWine, one of the worst Bewsh sycophants in the Senate at the time, over Sherrod Brown in 2006. Why? This is patently unbelieveable: They endorsed that milquetoast rubber-stamp nerdster based on their weird logic of Sherrod Brown's pro-worker stance being "out of the playbook of the AFL-CIO and Dennis Kucinich rather than based on good economics". Right, because God forbid you should have good things happening to rank-and-file workers.

The PD HATES Kucinich. In fact, there's an anti-Kucinich article in today's paper.

Sunday's paper is usually loaded with liberal readers' fact-armed beatdowns of said Deputy Editor's weekly columns, which are riddled with BillO-esque talking points at their worst.

And don't get me started on fucking Stephen Koff. The guy actually had the NERVE to write a pro-offshoring article for a paper that resides in a county accounted for 11% of Ohio's total job loss, many of them in manufacturing. Not surprisingly, they didn't print my LTTE, which pretty much destroyed his pro-corporate, pro-laissez-faire crapcake of a story.

Small wonder we won't be renewing after this year.
