And I can't say that I haven't been guilty of it myself. I've made some pretty nasty comments about others, and many times, it was just due to general frustration over the state of the world, and I got personal because I didn't know exactly how to express my frustration.

I'm trying to clean up my argument a little these days. I guess I have been offended myself at the broad brush generalizations and nasty remarks that some Republicans have made about Democrats, and I told myself that I had to try to extend the same respect I was asking for.

I don't always manage to stay civil, but I'm working on it, and believe it's really the best way. You CAN be civil without being a doormat, and you can disagree with out being nasty. You can be assertive without being aggressive.

Like I said, I'm working on it. :-)
