100. I see a major difference between the two modes of thinking
One group -- the so-called conservatives -- is asking for liberals to be executed as a matter of public policy. It's something that enough of them could actually make happen if they had the numbers and the votes.

The poster you referred to was sighing that the ship didn't spring a leak and sink. That's not something that liberals could carry out without hostile attack. It's just a generalized wish that the universe would hand them a little justice for a hateful, awful ideology.

Personally, I think the comment about the ship sinking was puerile. But he's not making plans to sink their ship, whereas the people on the boat are making serious plans to execute US. He's getting some imaginary schadenfreude while American right-wing religious fascists are literally organizing death squads because they cant' win in the court of public opinion. Not the same.
