In fact see my earlier Damn him post above for the same thought.
Look again at what I said. It's not that I think she will not be ruthlessly attacked by the RW moise machine.
It's that she already has been. Everything they can say about Hillary has been said, There IS a reason for those high negatives after all. People have made up their mind already about Rose Law and travelgate and Vince Foster and Hillarycare and lesbianism and carpetbagging and every other damn thing about her. It's a done deal. All they can do is lather rinse and repeat, and even a goodly number of the braindead American Idol crowd are less likely to care the second time around.
The people who say "Hillary will energize the RW nuts to vote against her" are the ones missing the point. They did the same thing for Gore and Kerry after the hate radio and drive by media finished with them. They'll do the same thing for Obama or Edwards or Richardson or anybody once they have been put through the wringer too. Hillary's negatives are so high because she's already been slandered to the max.
Will they go the extra mile for a Clinton? Possibly, but again they already have. Scaife and Rove are not THAT macchiavellian (or rather they probably are but lack the ability to patiently defer vengeance) that they would hold back juicy skeletons in past attacks just waiting for a possible WH run in the future. We already have heard everything they hate about Hillary. The same is not true of other candidates.
