Jeez, did we all see the same interview? I cannot stand O'Brian, but while she was snotty in places, I think she was just trying to get control of her interview. McKinney simply stonewalled. She answered with non-answers. I agree with Sosobad -- why wouldn't McKinney simply tell 'em what happened? She'd defer to her lawyer who said "We don't know what happened." WTF? She was THERE! Why didn't she know what happened?
Look, I firmly believe that McKinney is suffering from Republican-led blowback for crossing the president and speaking out/voting against his pet war. From everything I've heard, she didn't do much to the DC cop to warrant all the attention. But she didn't do herself any favors with that interview, imho. Why couldn't she just give her version of the altercation? Why did she resort to such ridiculous lines as "We don't know yet"? Why did she keep talking over her host while she was being asked questions?
One final bit of fairness to Sosobad -- even while she did appear to be rough on McKinney, she at least pretended to be a bit tougher on the cop in the second part of the segment. He flat-out asked him why he thought a black woman appeared not to belong there. I thought it was a good zinger.
It wasn't the finest hour for Sosobad, but it was far from her WORST. McKinney, otoh...she simply didn't act professional or dignified.
