People here are still proudly displaying their Stupid/Evil2004 bumper stickers. The majority of folks here just don't want to think about politics. My mother was right about this state, she always said she liked to see all those high rise condos being built because they'd make Florida sink faster.

Yes, the Dems need to cut their losses and concentrate on the west and midwest, especially. That's where an economic populist campaign will take hold and flourish. This is where the populist revolution will start, and this is where a populist party should concentrate its resources.

Of course, that depends on the DLC being unable to thrust another Repug candidate down the party's throat or control the platform if a mild liberal actually wins the nomination.
