The last time Indiana meant anything was when Bobby Kennedy won it in 1968.
The second blackest day in Indiana political history was in the aftermath of Bobby's death when all of his antiwar delegates were replaced by prowar, pro-Humphrey delegates (including Governor Roger Branigin). The bad taste has never left my mouth!
The blackest day in Indiana political history was when George Wallace got 40-percent of the Democratic primary vote in 1964.
A good day was the day that the 40-percent that Wallace got left the Democratic Party and joined the GOP to vote for Raygun.
