78. the sad truth is
that Goldwater, or even Nixon (who created a department to combat poverty, which was headed by Rumsfeld at the time); would be considered liberals when put next to Bush. That would be an effective rhetoric to diffuse the 'most liberal senator' label of Kerry. Then again, John Kerry missed just about every opportunity that was presented to him during last campaign, he is a decent senator and a good executive, but from my point of view he was a terrible politician.

I was a fan of McCain before he sold his sould to Rove, now he is dead to me...
