How can "Propaganda-gate" NOT be a concerted effort?

(For lack of a better term, I'll just use Propaganda-gate, unless somebody can come up with something better)

How can they expose a columnist a week that's been paid by the Bush administration, and still claim that they're "isolated incidents"?

How can they all claim they "FORGOT" they were paid? Do you forget when you're paid thousands of dollars by someone? Would you forget if you were paid thousands of dollars by the United States government, and you weren't even one of their employees?

What's going on here?
