12. Libertarian Socialism in a Libertarian Capitalist society???????
Sounds kind of weird, but I would like a society in which both those who want to be capitalists and those who want to be communalists can thrive, and respect each other.

Maybe it's fucking selfish, and maybe it's my last gasp at ever getting over on anyone, but I like the idea that I am a stay-at-home mom and writer, while my boyfriend works at a plastics plant to make bottles for the plebs, and is a French Horn player, and that we live thriftily, and simply and outside all of this consumer bullshit, on my little subsistence farm, or whatever, but thanks to the concentration of wealth and the human capital, if I need like some giant tumor removed from me, there's a space-aged laser somewhere to get it out.

I think it's a nice symbiosis. And even though I think most of American culture is low-brow, and that most people are nearly inbred, I'm sort of thankful that they have the chance to poison their bodies, rot their brains on reality television and pop music, and look like dillweeds in a giant car. Certainly pours a lot of money into the capitalist machine, which is responsible for that laser that will save MY life, so I can go back to being non-productive (except for like garden vegetables and rabbit meat), enjoying my life of art, with my friends, and yes, my fucking espresso machine.

Elitist? No. Just, uh, "segregationist," I guess. I'm ready to give the Republicans what they've longed for for so long: the chance to free associate. I want them to free-associate their dumb asses out of my universe.

But still close enough that I can take advantage of an MRI.

I largely believe that most of what's wrong with this country is what people do to themselves, and what they ALLOW to be done to them. I mean -- how the fuck do you explain anti-unionism, except for total brainwashing and idiocy?

This place is too far gone. I say make civil liberties paramount, and let the rest go down in it's ball of fire or something. Sorry, but being "good Democrats" worked so well, didn't it?? :roll eyes:

My dream is seriously to live in a say, state of communes where we have all the land, sell -- I don't know -- fucking wool purses to socialites -- and are able to purchase a few basic necessities (you know, the things that disillusioned liberals like to do: Internet, books, independent films, make odd musical recordings and drink wine), and like play the god damn recorder and eat granola and sing songs-a-la-moonies. And yet, have the plebian shite slave their fat asses away so I can get a double masectomy when all the soy in the miso soup eats a whole in my breast.

Sound weird? It's my new fucking philosophy. A hippie version of "take-care-of-your-own." Because if we did take care of our own, particularly the apathetic middle class, we'd be a hell of a lot better off.
