Deuteronomy 8:10
When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.

So it's not a question of God needing anything from humans, but a way of thanking Him for what He has provided.

However, I don't blame God for that piece of shit being in the White House, so I think I'll leave Him out of this one.
