3. I would say yes.
Kerik was picked because he's a colorful character who would have proved to be a useful distraction for the boobs had he been confirmed. Kerik would have been for "homeland security" what Bill O'Reilly is to news, a lot of obfuscatory hot air.

What we have seen in the past few weeks is a purge of independent and creative thinkers from the Bush administration and their replacement with factotums who will to conform to whatever stimulus comes out of the Oval Office. It's all about Cheney and Rummy now.

The Bush administration couldn't give a shit about the security of this country, just like they don't care about the lives of our servicemen or the state of granny's SS check.
