6. Ried was good to excellent. Much better than Daschle.
He didn't sound like he was whining which Daschle always did.

He took NO crap for spudhead. He just ignored him and made his points. Barely looked at the guy.

He said Social Security privatization was a scam to take money from recipients and give to to Wall Street fat cats.

He supported an earlier statement where he called * a liar (one of those spudhead things where he quotes the guest). He just said, yes he is. This was on Yucca Mtn.

He gave Scalia a backhanded compliment; said he was very smart but a problem for Chief due to "ethical problems."

On abortion, he said he represented the Democratic party and would not let his own views get in the way.

Hello, this guy is a smart operator. One of those real friendly, courteous types that nails you real good while he's smiling.

Get ready. He will be something to watch when the heat gets turned up.
