196. My reply to you
You're operating under the assumption that all voters are logical, and my biggest frustration about this campaign is Bush's relentless attack on Kerry's "flip-flop," and that many voters are stupid enough to believe it. Kerry's message on the war in Iraq is very clear to me, and if I have to resort to silly tactics, so be it. I can't have the same kind of respect Kerry has for the voters. He spends so much time explaining his plans because he believes in his voters' ability to comprehend. I, on the other hand, know there are voters whose attention span is too short and can only understand the Bush sound-bites.

I do believe that even if the results are lopsided, they still help Kerry. What messages does it send? First, it means that people in the online community, people who don't only read local newspapers or watch local news channels, support Kerry. Though there are exceptions, I think it'd be safe to say that ON AVERAGE, people who have access to more information are likely to be better informed. Second, the swing voters who go on these online polls, even if they are dubious, can see there is an overwhelming support for Kerry in these fora, and that can at least spark their interest to investigate in the matter, and if it means they will do more research on the web about the two candidates, my goal is achieved.
