so much for freedom of information, only real democracies that have integrity of purpose don't fear pictures/stories of reality.

But your statement "Families tend to notice when their loved ones stop communicating with them." is interesting. True, families notice, but is any effort to aggregate these stories, nationally? Or could the death notices be managed by the Army so as to spread them out over time? How frequent is the communication between soldiers and their families?

I don't know the answers to these questions.
