Panel of rabbis issues edict calling on police to refuse orders to secure Jerusalem pride parade. Participating officers are 'criminals, whose sins will be judged by heavenly throne'

<snip>

"A panel of rabbis made a halachic ruling Wednesday demanding police refuse orders to protect the gay pride parade slated to take place in Jerusalem Friday.

The rabbis, who consider themselves a Sanhedrin (supreme religious judicial body) and convene occasionally to discuss current issues, conferred on Friday’s gay pride parade in Jerusalem and concluded: “Any police officer who reveres God’s law will refuse orders and will not participate in any way in protecting those committing abominations in Israel," the rabbis ruled, who consider themselves a Sanhedrin."
