Makes the leap from from empirical evidence and then asserts causality based on a hypothesis sympathetic to the authors viewpoint.
Rather like saying "I forgot to tie my shoelaces this morning and I crashed my car. Therefore if I tie my shoe laces I won't have car crashes"
This does not constitute scientific method.
