Of course the controllers want release of concealed-carry data. In that way, they can stimatize further (as is the wont of hard-line prohibitionists of all stripes). And what of the argument that crims & thugs will use the list to break-into a gun-owners's house and steal those arms, thereby contributing to the public endangerment they supposedly decry? No matter. And no matter if an abuser just breaks into a former spouse's now-not-so-secret address and does her/him. It's all worth it to satisfy that need to stigmatize, and proclaim: My morals are more moral than your morals.
